Welcome to the second of many Open Access Button Weekly updates.
This past week we have organised on Open Access Button Hackathon in this weekend the 7th and 8th of September. The venue is Top Office Machines, 133-135 Bethnal Green Road, E2 7DG London, United Kingdom. You can find out more and sign up here. You can turn up on the day or hack remotely online, we will have IRC channels(#oabutton – freenode), google docs and hangouts a plently running all weekend.
Today, we had a blog go up on the London School of Economics Impact of Social Sciences Blog, you can read it here.
Next Monday 9th September, we’ll be issuing a call for student leaders to help support the Open Access Button (we’d like to get a full night’s sleep soon). So if you’re an undergraduate or postgraduate student and you’re interested in getting involved keep an eye out!
Last week, we spoke about the challenges we had on the design front. We’ve chatted with some great people about design work and hope to start work on that this week. If you feel you’ve anything to contribute, get in touch or come online or in person to our hack weekend this weekend.
This week’s challenges have been fixing problems after last week’s code port to Python and organising this hack weekend, which has been lots more work than we first anticipated.
Later this week we will be continuing with our weekly development and project management calls with the rest of the team with an additional call to chat about funding. Of course we’ll also be releasing a bunch more information about the hackday.
Until next week, have a good one!
